U7 PRE ACADEMY COMPETITIVE PROGRAM
Our U7 teams sit at the top of our Pre Academy development pathway. They will participate up a division in our fall rec league playing in a 5v5 format and then transition to a NorCal 7v7 division for spring league.
With a heavy focus on development and preparation for full academy programming at U8, U7 teams will have 2 practices per week in the fall with potential for 3 in the spring. Pre Academy placement is determined by evaluation during the open enrollment week.
U8 & U10 - PLAYER DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY
The Academy will be structured to connect all of the players and coaches in group training environments. All players will be taught under the same philosophy and game model, so that all of the players are provided the same opportunities to learn and develop within the game. Academy programming will see teams practice 3 times per week, placement for fall & Spring seasons in the appropriate NorCal Premier divisions & participate in local & regional tournaments
Being a part of the Academy is the first major step for the players at Rocklin FC and we're very excited to get started.

U11/U12
At U11 and U12, Rocklin FC players are challenged to build on their 7v7 experience. Teams are formed as Navy, White, and Grey teams and practice as a team 3 times per week, however player movement can still occur based on the development needs of players.
All of our 9v9 teams will be playing under the same game model, so that players are learning the same game concepts and demands, and can adapt to playing in another Rocklin FC team. The progression from 9v9 to 11v11 at U13 will be a big one, but the training games and playing style of the club will remain consistent to give our players at this age the best opportunities to succeed.
11v11
The big game! Building on the technical and tactical foundations learned on the smaller field, players will now execute individual and team principles in the 4 elements of the game - attacking, defending, transition (att-def), transition (def-att). Players will start to specialize in playing positions and understand their roles to guide decision making on a consistent basis.
Teams are formed in the same process as 9v9, with Navy teams competing in designated elite programs, while white and grey teams are placed in development appropriate levels in both league and tournaments.
Learning how to beat opponents becomes an increasing driving force alongside continued technical, tactical, physical and cognitive development of a soccer player.
